Support for Modules in Common Applications

Although the modules mentioned herein are in use in at least one installation somewhere in the world, the vast majority of them aren’t supported by the most common newsreader applications. Dublin Core is supported by most, but the others are variable in the extreme. This isn’t to say that they aren’t useful. Far from it. They are just used mostly within private organizations, with private software producing and parsing them. Just because you don’t see many people using a module doesn’t mean they aren’t. But conversely, just because you produce data in a module doesn’t mean the general public can read it. These things evolve.
