Appendix 1 — Position Description: New Zealand Tourism Board Member

Role of the New Zealand Tourism Board (NZTB)

The New Zealand Tourism Board, currently trading as Tourism New Zealand, was established by The New Zealand Tourism Board Act 1991 “... to ensure that New Zealand is so marketed as a visitor destination as to maximise long-term benefits to New Zealand.”

Subject to this object it has functions to: (a) develop, implement, and promote strategies for tourism; and (b) advise the Government and the New Zealand tourism industry on matters relating to the development, implementation, and promotion of those strategies.
