Moving forward a few years, we are happy to report that at the time of this writing, the supply-chain design project is back in business. After several years of being dormant, the economic and technical dimensions of the project are being updated, revised, and improved to deal with the present day market conditions. Remember that “next generation” technology we discussed? How we did not expect it to be ready for three to four years after we started with the technology currently on the table? Remember how painful the discussion was on incorporating learning curves into project economics and jumping from one product learning curve to the next product learning curve?
