11.2. The Diamond 330HiFi: A High-Performance audio DSP Core

The Diamond 330HiFi audio DSP architecture contains all of the basic elements of the Xtensa ISA. It has a 32-entry general-purpose register file, a 5-stage execution pipeline, and 32-bit addressing. This execution pipeline has been augmented with several audio instructions to reduce the number of cycles needed to execute audio-codec firmware. In addition, the Diamond 330HiFi audio DSP has a second set of register files and execution pipeline giving the processor core the ability to execute two independent instructions per clock.
