2.8. Detailed Implementation

After the cycle-accurate simulations provide the desired system-performance results, the detailed implementation can begin. Again, work splits in to two. The software team now has a set of compilers, assemblers, debuggers, and instruction-set simulators for the processors selected in prior design steps. These tools allow software team to implement the computational and communication tasks in firmware.

Note that this design phase should not be the first time that the software-development team has been involved in the design.
