Getting Started

One of the most exciting features of InfoPath 2007 is the ability to fill out a form in a Web browser. As we mentioned in Chapter 1, this answers the biggest customer request since InfoPath first hit the streets back in August 2003. Welcome to Microsoft Office InfoPath Forms Services 2007—the product that allows people to use Web browsers to fill out and manage InfoPath forms and form templates.

Before we can dive into Forms Services, it must be properly set up. To do so, we’ll review the prerequisites and how to proceed through installation. We’ll look at a couple Forms Services product offerings as well as the numerous ways you can configure your servers depending on your needs.
