Sun Cluster 2.2 and 3.0 Feature Comparison

Sun Cluster 2.2 and Sun Cluster 3.0 are fundamentally different products, despite having very similar goals—provision of highly available and scalable application services. The differences stem from the fact that Sun Cluster 2.2 is predominantly a layered product, using a combination of programs, shell scripts, and daemons to achieve its goals. In contrast, Sun Cluster 3.0 is highly integrated with the Solaris 8 operating environment and delivers much of its functionality through kernel modules and agents.
