Section 3 Larger Systems and the PIC 16F873A
This section of six chapters focuses on developing a good understanding of microcontroller peripherals and their underlying principles. It makes use of the same microcontroller core as the earlier chapters but applies a ‘large’ PIC 16 Series microcontroller. All peripherals introduced are also directly applicable to the 18 Series. Emphasis is placed on understanding the peripherals and using them in increasingly sophisticated applications. Program examples are in Assembler. Chapter 12, the last in this section, moves us on to some more advanced microcontrollers, still 16 Series, and some more advanced concepts.
