Summary

Speech technology brings with it its own set of human factors problems. If we are to successfully implement speech interfaces, we must deal with these human factors issues in design, as well as understand the medium in which we are working. This chapter covered the human factors issues. The next two chapters describe the basics of speech: sound and language.
