If you are reading this book, you probably have interests in critical literacy, teacher education, discourse analysis, and/or teacher research. You may read this book as a teacher researcher in order to learn applications of tools of discourse analysis or perhaps you were drawn to our focus on teacher education in literacy. Or you may be a seasoned discourse analyst looking to expand the kinds of critical discourse analyses you conduct. We have kept these different audiences in mind as we wrote this book.
