Chapter 9The Dark Horse—Windows 8

Once upon a time, a company called Microsoft dominated the software industry. Today, Microsoft is the distant third platform solution. Windows 8 is Microsoft’s opportunity to turn the boat around and become an equal competitor to Apple and Google.

The focus of this chapter is Microsoft’s efforts related to tablet and phone. With that said, you can not talk about Windows Phone and tablet without talking a little about Windows 8 and 8.1.
