Chapter Ten discussed analytical statistics for data that lend themselves to presentation in the form of contingency tables. Contingency table data typically are not interval in level of measurement because the very large number of individual values associated with interval data would render the table unwieldy and unreadable. This chapter continues the discussion of significance tests that are most appropriately applied when the dependent variable is interval, on ordinal scale treated as interval (see chapter 7), or on ordinal containing categories of grouped interval data (chapters 3 and 5).
