Sometimes, Smaller Is Better

Since making screen elements larger makes them easier to hit, it sometimes makes sense to make destructive elements smaller to decrease the probability that a user will hit them unintentionally.

For example, in the Windows 7 Start menu, the “Shut down” button is smaller than the clickable areas that start applications.
