Working with Text and Graphics

In Chapter 5, you learned how to create text boxes, place them in their desired locations, and link them together. In the preceding section, you learned how to align the text boxes with the underlying grid. In this section, we’ll build on that knowledge as you learn how to add text and graphics to your text boxes.

Adding Text

You add text in existing text boxes by using either of two techniques:

Type directly in a text box. You’ll probably choose this method for short publications and when you “write to fit” to ensure that you don’t prepare too much copy for the space you have available. To learn more about writing to fit, see the next section.
