Becoming an Artisan

An artisan is someone who takes pride in the work he or she produces. Artisans are craftspeople who have carefully mastered the techniques of their craft and who consistently take the time to do things right.

Production accuracy and consistency are as important as creativity. It’s not enough to come up with a design that attracts attention and is easy to read. As a designer, you also have to shepherd the design through to completion—and then check your work over and over again for the details.
