4.5. Shape Sensitivity Analysis

Shape sensitivity analysis characterizes the influence of structural geometric change to its performance. For frame structures consisting of bars or beams, a change in dimension variables causes changes in the length and orientation angle of individual bar or beam members in the structure. Length change is referred to as domain shape change, and angle change is referred to as configuration change.
