Characters and Glyphs

A singular typeface (or font) is comprised of a single set of visually related characters and glyphs that include letterforms, figures or numerals, punctuation, ligatures, symbols, and diacritical marks needed for typesetting. A typeface’s integral visual characteristics, such as stroke thickness, contrast, alignment, and spacing, all contribute equally to its visual appearance, cohesiveness, and functionality.
