The wholesale SP offering DSL services acts as an NAP and does not usually get involved in offering different services, such as high-speed Internet access, voice, or video. The main customers for the wholesale SPs are the various ISPs or corporations. These ISPs and corporations sell their services to their end consumer by outsourcing the DSL services from the wholesale DSL SP. The wholesale SP in turn sells the high-speed pipes from the subscriber to the ISPs or corporations. As mentioned before, the frontier companies of DSL access services adopted a business model of selling fat pipes to the end consumer without really concentrating on the actual services.
