Appendix A. WAAS Quickstart Guide
The Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) software provides a command-line interface (CLI) setup wizard to assist in the initial configuration of a WAAS device. This appendix offers a step-by-step guide to enable and validate Cisco WAAS optimization using the setup wizard in a simulated network environment. This appendix also covers the procedure to test and measure application performance before and after WAAS installation. The same process can be followed to set up a WAAS test lab for a proof-of-concept and demonstrate the benefits of WAAS optimization. At the end of the appendix, some useful tools are listed for more extensive performance testing.
