Mono and System.Windows.Forms

Mono is also implementing the System.Windows.Forms (SWF) component of .NET, although development in this area is proceeding significantly slower than other parts of the framework. This is in part because of technical issues with the implementation of SWF. However, real promise and therefore the focus for cross platform development lie with ASP.NET and ADO.NET. Browser-based applications provide a natural platform independence on the client side, avoiding a number of complex technical issues of a native GUI application. Nonetheless, work is continuing on SWF for Mono.
