It’s true. You do deserve a break today—and every day! It’s important to take time out to celebrate your successes. Be good to yourself for doing a terrific job. No one else can celebrate as well as you can because no one else knows how well you’ve done.
If you’ve ever spent an hour or ten complaining about stupid customers or unsolvable problems—and who hasn’t—remember the rule of “equal time.” Spend as much time, or better yet more time, rehashing your successes. From time to time go out with your colleagues and celebrate each other for surviving and thriving in the work you do. Is it bragging about yourself? Sure.
