The e-mail that you want to receive is no better than spam if it turns into gunk on your PC. Unlike spam, however, your own e-mail responds better to psychological measures than to technological measures. You need to be ready to deal with e-mail as it arrives—and become an ace at deciding when to keep a message, when to hold it for a limited time, when to pitch it, or when to deal with it (read it or reply) right now.
