Security

Security is a key degunking issue, and that’s why I’ve devoted so many pages to it throughout the book. Without proper security on your machine, you’re at serious risk of getting viruses and other menacing programs that can be directly harmful or take up power and resources. This could cause your computer to run slower or crash more often. You may have also left yourself open to snooping neighbors, siblings, or kids, if you don’t have the proper usernames, passwords, and security settings in place and if you don’t log off your PC when you’re finished using it.
