Understand How to Restore Your Computer
If you lose a folder of data (or perhaps even a single file), and that data is not in the Recycle Bin, but it is on a USB drive, external drive, network drive, CD or DVD, iPad, iPod, MP3 player, or the like, you can easily restore the data by connecting the backup media and dragging the data back to the computer where it belongs. That’s one reason I like this option for backing up, and especially for redundant backups. It’s simple and you never have to sweat that it’ll work. There are no wizards, no applications to go through, and no fear that a program will throw up some dreaded “can’t find backup” message or “backup is corrupt.” That just doesn’t happen with data you drag and drop.
