Although there’s no way I could ever address in a single chapter all of the things that could gunk up your machine with regard to media, this chapter should certainly get you off on the right foot. For the most part, you want to stay on top of the media you acquire, deleting it or archiving it when necessary and on a schedule. You should keep your media players up to date, and uninstall players you don’t use.

With that done, you can organize the music you want to keep with playlists, both manual and auto. You can create playlists that change when your media does, such as the playlist I created to include only the music I’ve acquired in the past 30 days. That auto playlist will always be relevant.
