Summary

This appendix looked at the ways in which the Visual Basic programming language has changed from the language that you know and love, for better or worse. It also discussed some of the very basic syntactical changes that exist between the Visual Basic and C# programming languages. With this information, you will be prepared to convert any existing Visual Basic code to Visual Basic .NET—or even potentially into the C# programming language. You will also be ready to start writing Visual Basic .NET or C# code from scratch without having to battle with the new syntax changes inherent in both languages. This will certainly help you when you’re trying to figure out why your new programs aren’t compiling properly.
