Windows Process Model for Replication Programs

In Windows NT or Windows 2000, each Capture, Apply, and Replication Alert Monitor program runs as a separate service. These services are created and dropped through the Replication Center or with the commands asnscrt (create a replication service) and asnsdrop (drop a replication service).

As separate services, you can start or stop the replication programs individually. You can stop and start these services from the Windows Control Panel, under the Services section of the Administrative Tools.
