Windows 2003 Support

The Windows version of DB2 UDB v8.1 provides more than just a platform port. DB2 for Windows exploits key capabilities of the Windows operating system. Earlier versions of DB2 included integration with the Windows security model, Active Directory, and key administrative tools. DB2 UDB v8.1 builds on this foundation and adds support for the Windows 2003 Server platform including the 64-bit architecture.

DB2 UDB v8.1 supports the following versions of Windows 2003:

  • Server Edition

    • Up to 4-way SMP support

    • 4 GB of RAM

  • Enterprise Server Edition

    • Up to 8-way SMP support

    • 32 GB of memory on 32-bit version, 64 GB of memory on 64-bit version

    • Support for eight-node clustering

  • Datacenter Server Edition
