SQL Assist

With SQL Assist and some knowledge of SQL, you can create SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE statements. SQL Assist is a tool that uses outline and details panels to help you organize the information that you need to create an SQL statement.

DB2 UDB v8.1 enhancements include the following:

  • A redesigned user interface for easy inspection and modification of SQL statement elements

  • Assistance for creating table joins

  • SQL syntax checking

  • The option to copy and paste an existing SQL statement into SQL Assist, then use the SQL Assist interface to make modifications
