Locking Behavior

The new LOCK WITH FORCE option (see Figure 11.1) permits you to force applications to release the locks they have on a table, allowing a load operation to proceed. Either SYSADM or SYSCTRL authority is required to use the LOCK WITH FORCE option. Table 11.1 summarizes locking behavior under different access modes with and without the LOCK WITH FORCE option.
