Connection Concentrator Operation

After the first connection to a host database, the connection concentrator reduces the connect time for subsequent connections to this database. When an application requests a disconnection from a host database, the connection from the application to the connection concentrator is dropped. Meanwhile, the coordinating agent is put into an agent pool for this host database, with the connection to the database intact. When a new request is made to connect to this host database, DB2 tries to reuse an existing outbound connection from the database's agent pool.
