Summary

With the exception of the DB2 utilities, all programs that access DB2 data use one of the five attachment facilities. This includes the DB2 commands, like BIND, that run under the DSN command processor using the TSO attachment. Query Management Facility (QMF) is an example of an IBM product that uses CAF as well as most performance monitoring tools.
