Summary

Text Extender enhances SQL text searches by providing improved functionality that runs faster than traditional SQL. After the product is installed, a Text Extender instance must be created. Each database must be enabled to add the new UDTs and UDFs. Indexes are created on columns that will be searched. Applications call UDFs or APIs to search the index. Indexes need to be updated when the data in the database changes. Any index problems that may occur will generate an error event record in the index event table.
