Configuration

Most commands are issued using the Text Extender CLP. To enter the CLP environment, type db2tx. This is similar to the database CLP environment, db2. You can enter Text Extender commands from this prompt or precede any command with the db2tx from a regular prompt.

Each database must be enabled to use Text Extender before a search index can be created. Enabling a database creates UDTs, UDFs, administration tables, and views needed for Text Extender to work. After a database is enabled, it will stay enabled until issuing the disable command. Make sure both the database instance and Text Extender instances are started as described earlier.
