Non-GUI Tools

For the non-GUI programmers, DB2 features the following two Command Line Tools that basically allow the programmer to enter SQL statements from the command line:

  • Command Line Processor— Figure 2.15

  • Command Window— Figure 2.16

    Figure 2.16. DB2 Command Window.

All the commands available from these tools can be displayed onscreen as follows:

  • From the Command Line Processor, type ? (question mark) and press <Enter>.

  • From the Command Window, type db2 ? and press <Enter>.
