Resolving Restrictive and Advisory States

DB2 sets a restrictive or advisory status on an object to control access and help ensure data integrity. The list below outlines the restrictive and non-restrictive object states that affect utilities, and the steps required to correct each status for a particular object.

Use the -DISPLAY DATABASE command to display the current status for an object. Below is Table 7.1 that shows all the restrictive states, the objects affected, and what corrective actions need to be taken.
