Chapter 6. Configuring Client and Server Connectivity

Before you can perform any work on a database, you first need to connect to it, either from the same system or from a remote client system. We call the system where your database resides a DB2 server and the system where you issue your commands to connect, the client. It is possible that the same system acts as both the DB2 server and the client. In this chapter, you learn what needs to be installed and what needs to be configured in your DB2 server and your client.
