Chapter 3. Using DB2 Functions

You can apply three types of built-in functions to data in a DB2 table using SQL: aggregate functions, scalar functions, and table functions. In addition, scalar and table functions are provided for MQSeries® and XML operations—these are covered separately toward the end of this chapter.

You can use these functions to further simplify the requirements of complex data access.
