As I’ve noted several times in this book, the a7R II and a7 II boast professional-level video features not found in most consumer- or even pro-oriented digital cameras. Many of those looking for the best Sony mirrorless camera for video will probably choose the a7S II (which is not covered in detail in this book). Others may prefer a dedicated camcorder, like the Sony VG30 Handycam (about $2,700), which uses E-mount lenses, or the 4K-capable Sony AX1 Professional Handycam ($4,500), which has a fixed 20X zoom lens. Even so, neither of the other two a7 II–series cameras are slackers when it comes to capturing clips that can be assembled into polished video productions.
