7Working with Lenses

In most of my previous Nikon books, I included discussions of the essentials of choosing lenses in the same chapter as more advanced topics and specific recommendations. For this Nikon D4/D4s book, however, I’ve moved most of the basics, such as discussions of the kinds of effects you can expect from various focal lengths and zoom ranges, to my Part VI “bonus” section, Appendix B. If you need some background on lenses and their use, jump there. This chapter is aimed at the typical D4/D4s user, with more experience with optics, and Nikon lenses in particular.
