Choosing a Scene Mode

The 18 scene and auto modes can be selected by rotating the mode dial on the top right of the Nikon D5200. The first seven have their own positions on the mode dial. (See Figure 1.6.) The others can be selected by rotating the mode dial to the SCENE position, and then rotating the command dial to select one of the additional modes. The options on the mode dial include:

image Auto. In this mode, the D5200 makes all the exposure decisions for you, and will pop up the internal flash if necessary under low-light conditions. The camera automatically focuses on the subject closest to the camera (unless you’ve set the lens to manual focus), ...
