Close-up and macro photography offer you the chance to see and share the world around you in ways that can’t be explored in any other way. Close-up photography is basically any photography that gives you a closer view of the subject than how people normally see it (as shown in Figure 1.1). This is not simply about distance to the subject because, as you will see later in the book, that is affected by the focal length of the lens you are using.
