7Movie Making with Your Canon PowerShot G16

Canon has considerably beefed up the movie-making capabilities of the PowerShot G16, compared to the fairly rudimentary video features of its predecessors. The G16 can record 1920 × 1080 pixel (Full HD) movies at 60 and 30 frames per second, 1280 × 720 pixel (Standard HD) movies at 30 fps, and 640 × 480 pixel (VGA-format) movies at 30 fps.

In addition, it can capture Super Slow Motion movies at 640 × 480 pixel (VGA) resolution and 120 frames per second, and lower resolution 320 × 240 pixel video at 240 fps, which produce clips that play back at one-fifth and one-tenth speed (respectively). That is, a four-second clip will take 20 seconds to play back when captured at 120 fps, and 40 seconds with a 240 ...
