Web-Accessible Databases

Another new area of database systems that has become widespread since the 1990s is Web-accessible databases. The proliferation of these databases is strongly correlated to the growth of the World Wide Web (WWW or W3); both phenomena have become part and parcel of twenty-first century lifestyle, and both promise to be an integral part of life in the foreseeable future.
