Chapter 19. Managing the Archive Over Time

The archive administrator is responsible for the protection of the data. This could involve either direct involvement by performing the functions defined in this chapter or indirect involvement through database administrators or storage administrators. If indirect, the archive administrator is responsible for creating and maintaining a protection plan and ensuring that the other administrators follow it.

The archive administrator needs to have a schedule of actions that must be taken periodically. When these actions are performed, a record should be recorded in an audit trail.
