DATA HIERARCHIES

Data hierarchies typically represent the data on reports, screens, and forms. A data hierarchy is a sequence of data sets and subsets with their identifying data values, characterizing data values, and accumulated data values. It is not the same as a data subject hierarchy or a data subject type hierarchy.

A data hierarchy can be a fixed data hierarchy, a variable data hierarchy, or a combination of fixed and variable data hierarchies. Each of these types of data hierarchies is described below.
