10. Process Manufacturing
Chapter Four described the products a company manufactures, sells, and uses. Chapter Five then went on to describe how these products might be made, and Chapter Nine described how to plan that production. The entity ASSET encompassed both products made and products used in the manufacturing process, including liquids and powders, as well as solid objects such as products or pieces of equipment. The assumption in the manufacturing chapters, however, was that the products being made were discrete (either uniquely identified or countable), or at least made in discrete quantities.
