Creating and Loading Bitmaps

First I will cover the series of commands to load and create bitmaps. These commands are useful for loading a picture you create with your favorite graphic editor or creating your own pictures within DB.

DB has a limit on the number of bitmaps it can support at one time. This limit is 32, which means that you can only load or create 32 bitmaps at one time. This might seem like a small number, but you can be creative and get around any problems related to the small number of bitmaps. Usually, you won’t be using more than five or six bitmaps at a time, because most of the work in a 2D game is handled by sprites, which are stored separately from bitmaps.
