About the Author
Becky Blalock is a veteran of the corporate world. She began her career at Southern Company, an $18 billion corporation and one of the nation's largest utility companies, in 1979, where she rose to become senior vice president and chief information officer before retiring in 2011. In addition to her work in IT, she held leadership positions in accounting, finance, marketing, corporate communications, external affairs, and customer service—often as the first woman in the company to do so. Becky is a partner with Advisory Capital, where she provides strategic consulting, and serves on the boards of companies involved in energy, information technology, and medicine.
