PREFACE

This book was originally written in an attempt to understand today’s cybersecurity environment and how the application of existing international standards and best practices can be used to assist in the protection of information and information systems. Since its original issue in 2008, much has changed in the discussion of cyberwar, cyberterror and cybercrime. A significant amount of discussion has centered on the very definition of cyberwar and cast a spotlight on the dangers of hyperbole in the use of the term.
